TREADMILL EXERCISE TESTING (Exercise ECG)

Purpose for the Test?

Treadmill Exercise Testing (or Exercise Stress Test) is a test designed to look at the response of the heart to increased levels of exercise. People are referred for a variety of reasons:

  • Investigation of chest pain or breathlessness
  • The capacity to undertake physical activities or occupation
  • The assessment of prognosis following heart problems
  • The effect of treatment on symptoms

If at any time during the test you are feeling unwell, report the symptom immediately.

It takes approximately 30 minutes.
